Latest revision 9 March 1999 Triggers 7451-7459 with bad SOLFLG due to flight software upset. TJD 11243-11245 = March 6-8, 1999 A flight software upset (bit flip) occurred at or shortly before TJD/SoD 11243/32699. The affected word was at hex address 0CB0; the contents had been changed from the correct hex value 0720 to the bad value 0721. The upset occurred in an area of the software dealing with the SOLFLG value (which no longer has anything to do with the solar flare flag but is used to decide whether a trigger location can be seen by OSSE). The only obvious effect was that the SOLFLG value for triggers 7451-7454 (on TJD 11243), 7455 (on TJD 11244), and 7456-7459 (on TJD 11245) was 65535 (same as -1, i.e., all 16 bits are set) instead of the more common 64 (or another small value if in the field of view of OSSE). The problem was fixed by sending a command (BRTFIXP2) to the spacecraft at TJD/SoD 11245/63597 to change the contents of the altered word back to the original correct value.
