GS 1843 + 00 in outburst

An outburst of GS 1843 + 00, originally discovered in Apr 1988 by Ginga as reported in Koyama et al. (1990,ApJ,356,L47) has been detected by BATSE, using a daily FFT-based monitor (first noted on Mar 10). The more sensitive epoch-folding based tool (used for the BATSE Bright Source Report) detects the source from Mar 3 to Mar 23. This is the only additional outburst observed since it's discovery. For a more technical description of observation through Mar 10, see IAU Circular No. 6586. An improved location for the source has been obtained with an RXTE observation, as reported in IAU Circular No. 6595"
